Unfortunately, both of the library’s existing rooftop chillers that provide air conditioning have now ceased working. The units are not repairable. The Town is aggressively working on installing a temporary cooling solution for the library. This will involve installing the cooling units throughout the library and venting the warm air to the exterior. Along with the Board of Education assistance, these units should be in place by the end of next week. Funding for a capital project has already been approved to address the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems at the library. The design is taking place now. The goal is to have this work completed before summer of 2025.
