After School Programs

D&D Group Waterford Youth & Family Services After-School Programs

Our Mission

At Waterford Youth & Family Services, our after-school programs are more than just activities—they are opportunities for students to develop essential life skills while forming lasting friendships. We create a fun, nurturing environment where kids can explore their interests, build confidence, and grow both socially and emotionally. Through hands-on learning experiences, teamwork, and creative problem-solving, we empower students to become independent thinkers, strong leaders, and compassionate peers.

Program Overview

Our after-school programs run throughout the school year, aligning with the Waterford Public Schools calendar to best serve our community. Each session offers a diverse range of engaging activities designed to support students’ personal and academic development while encouraging creativity and collaboration.

  • Fall Session: September – December (8–10 weeks)
  • Winter Session: January – Early April (8–10 weeks)
  • Spring Session: Mid-April – Mid-June (6–8 weeks)

We are committed to making our programs accessible to families by working closely with our partners at Waterford Public Schools and our friends at STA to provide safe and reliable transportation from school to our programs, which are held at the Waterford Community Center.

Building Skills, Friendships & Confidence

We believe in the power of hands-on, interactive learning. Whether students are cooking, painting, storytelling through tabletop games, or developing leadership skills, our programs provide a safe and encouraging space for them to thrive. Each program is designed to:

  • Teach practical life skills – Cooking, problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making are woven into every activity.
  • Encourage social development – Students learn to collaborate, communicate, and build friendships in a supportive environment.
  • Promote creativity and exploration – From art to gaming to culinary arts, we foster curiosity and imagination.
  • Support emotional growth – Through teamwork and mentorship, students build confidence and self-expression.

At Waterford Youth & Family Services, our goal is to inspire and equip the next generation with the tools they need to succeed—not just in the classroom, but in life.
